gary lucas - music for the eden project - 5nakefork – 7" - 7$
The first 7" on 5nakefork Records, a 45 RPM 7" for New York's Gary Lucas. Gary's recent work through the nineties and on to 2010 finds him staying VERY relevant, modern, and innovative. His pedigree is unmatched, although he's never had to rely on past projects for current notriety... Anyone can hear this with the recent "Rishte" album with Indian vocalist Najma Akhtar, or his live soundtrack to the film "American Faust: From Condi to Neo-Condi."
Gary is perhaps best known for managing and then performing with Captain Beefheart's Magic Band on 1980's "Doc at the Radar Station," [performing the technical solo ecstasy that is "Evening Bell"] and 1982's "Ice Cream for Crow." He's also played with Jeff Buckley, Damo Suzuki, John Cale, Lou Reed, Nick Cave, Dave Liebman, Jerry Harris [talking heads], and Billy Ficca [television] just to name a few.
"Music for the Eden Project" is Garys first solo 45. Side A is experimental/electric guitar - lush solo psych out with extreme replayability... the B side is a steel guitar solo with some amazing finger skills! 200 on green vinyl, and 100 on orange vinyl.
