This is a short compilation of four 5 minute long guitar tracks. The initial concept was for a collection of tracks all "using guitars but not sounding like guitars." This might have offended some of the participants, so now the revised concept is simply "guitars". Ranging from the deep glacial drift of Un Ciego, through the scratchy feedback broadcasts of Ben Spiers, and the cosmic processed fizz of CJA & Jani Hellen, to the binary "noise versus silence" melodies of Pumice.

Musical field-recordings from: Jane Austen (Angeline Chirnside/Gest), C.Cottrell, Yek Koo (Helga Fassonaki), Mark Sadgrove (MHFS).
This is a short compilation of four 5 minute long tracks of processed field-recordings (each with a hint of musicality). These were originally released as a series of business-card size cdr's over 2006 & 2007, and here reissued as a single unit, all the better to collect their similarities and compare their differences.
First up is Jane Austen's quiet rumble of sleepy animals playing the piano, followed by C.Cottrell's eventfull walk through the park with max/msp, then Yek-Koo's autopilot navigations through home electronics, and finally Mark Sadgrove's hard edits of Tokyo sporting life.

One seventeen minute long hit-single of slowly growing drone and hiss. Wispy layers build up and up and up, not into a noisy fury as such, but more along the lines of 90's shoegaze bands, or haunted lavender-smoked cathedral ambience.
This is a complete live set, recorded at the Wine Cellar, Auckland, NZ, 6th May 2007.

Plains live at the Underground Bar, Auckland, NZ, 5th June 2006.
Recorded opening a show for Birchville Cat Motel and Sam Hamilton. This was Plains last performance before Mark moved to Tokyo, and it turns out quite a bit more energetic than the first album "Into Tone" on Scarcelight. Here the improvised soundscapes are a bit more fragmented, with melodic rumbles through the background, and a surface bubbling of psychedelic noise.
