in 1991, the zits on ryan howe (AKA luke perry AKA punks on mars)'s otherwise angelic face had been so well fed on curly fry grease that they were developing into sentient beings. they formed a biker gang of sorts and recorded an audio diary which they gave as a peace offering to their archrivals, the lunch ladies. somehow or another it ended up in the hands of the principal, who also DJ'd howe's senior prom. needless to say it was played in its entirety. this tape is all that remains of that fateful night.

very very pleased to present an expanded release of this originally self-released CDR which features pittsburgh natives sundog peacehouse here bringing four tracks which are very much more penguins than steelers. the four open space sunrisers that comprise the album are ambient in the sense eno definition of the word, which stipulated that the music should hold up to close inspection as well as mood music. a tad bit heavier than their recent tape on digitalis, yet still overflowing with air, water, and light.

in empire strikes back, george lucas neglected to include any mention of cloud city's vibrant music community. some say john williams put him up to it, others say the locals had the chance to contribute but didnt want to sell out. in any case, no account of the cloud city scene would be complete without nods to face quilts, the collaborative duo of willie thurlow (grass quilts) and aaron coyes (face plant), a duo specializing in hazy virtual reality minimalism which is as gently flowing as it is unpredictable. comparisons to other cloud city legends such as peaking lights (of whom coyes is 50%) are valid but face quilts exist on a cloud all their own.
