comet bodies - wings of lunesta - cylindrical habitat modules - cdr - 7$

Edition of 75 in standard CHM cdr style. New full-length, five tracks in a slightly different direction, kinda melodic at times, really weird as usual

c

heated void - hiram courtyard apparition - cylindrical habitat modules - cdr - 7$

Edition of 75 in standard CHM cdr style. Full-length album from the Gulyas brothers with a strong 80s horror/sci fi soundtrack vibe this time around

t

toby aronson - sensations - cylindrical habitat modules - cass - 7$

Excellent, short set from NNA tapes boss Toby Aronson. Imagine yourself seeing Blade Runner in an IMAX theater underwater and you're pretty much there. Great hi-fi synthesizer compositions that build to almost anxiety-inducing climaxes. Highly affecting and kinda addicting. Very "technological" sounding synth leads interlaced with reoccurring female cyber-voices and replicant pulsing electronics. An extremely creative and singular future vision. Edition of 80.

a

adema - dream chord - cylindrical habitat modules - cass- 7$

Bleary winter collaboration between myself and the Moth Cock boys. Two sides trimmed down from an extra-long session at the Fairchild house. Creepy deep space sub-jazz black hole jams, recorded live with a room mic but still retaining a weird hi-fi sound. Extra proud of this tape and stoked to be jamming with two of the best dudes in the universe. Also scope the Moth Cock live tape in this very batch! Not to not be confused with the nu-metal band. Edition of 70.

l

comet bodies - live- cylindrical habitat modules - cass - 7$

Two live tracks from the recent Comet Bodies+McGuire "tour" (one show in Kent, Ohio and one in Columbus). Hi-fi audience recordings of the "Comet Buddies" in full swing. Deep space avant sci-fi electronics taking heavy influence from dudes like Nik Raicevic, Morton Subotnick etc... This tape finds us exploring some really dark corners and pissing off some Kent bros. Limited edition of 50.

w

white prism - reappear - cylindrical habitat modules - cass - 7$

Phenomenal set of outer-limits synthesizer music from Ben Billington (Quicksails, Tiger Hatchery....) and Josh Burke (Sky Limousine, etc.). Definitely their spaciest outing yet, and one of the best tapes from this batch. White Prism continues their winning streak (after the EXCELLENT field studies tape last year) and builds on their foundation with two side-long pieces that paint an abstract, utopian logan's run reality for the listener. They have this amazing, almost "straightforward" style that just makes this tape so LISTENABLE; there are plenty of beautiful, fluid changes and tastefully sprinkled textures. Everything is in EXACTLY the right place, but nothing is predictable or stale. Side A explores deeper interplanetary float, even getting into killer Raicevic territories at times (the ten-minute mark on this side kills me every time) and Side B is more of a sparkling tapestry of almost new age-y warmth. Overall an amazing tape to keep coming back to. Edition of 100 on transparent red tapes.

d

daniel issac - the heavens had no light - cylindrical habitat modules - cass- 7$

Debut tape from my favorite new Ohio jammer, Columbus' Daniel Isaac. Apparently these are his first recordings EVER, which is absolutely mind-blowing to say the least. Don't really know where to start with describing this one, other than it totally shut my brain down the first time I checked it out. Completely HIGH-BROW synthesizer music, truly classy, classy stuff. High-brow as in, this could be the soundtrack to the new dark Spielberg movie or something, really. Synthesizer music as in, a full orchestra, not just a kid recording some synth tracks for the first time, just INSANE. Kind of in the "On Land" zone.. Deeply composed, building, "god I wish i thought of that" melodies, clearly representing a deep understanding of composition and structure. Just too stoked about this one, one of the nicest dudes around, really glad to be putting out his first jams, swear in five years this kid will be working on the new Scorsese score or composing ringtones for Verizon or something. Also scope the "Drum and Voice" CDR in this batch, LP on Cylindrical later this year. Edition of 80.

m

moth cock - in pursuit of carmichael's hoagie - cylindrical habitat modules - cass- 7$

Two live Moth Cock sides, captured in Cleveland and Pittsburgh in November 2010. This tape marks two missed opportunities for myself (was supposed to play with them the night of the Cleveland gig but got held up at work; was supposed to go with them to Pittsburgh and celebrate my 20th bday but ended up getting sick) that i'm almost glad I missed for the sake of these amazing sets. An excellent picture of the best band in Ohio currently. Vast, organic sound portals opened with horns, strings and actual magic. Best dudes ever. Edition of 80, art by Pat.

i

isle of sodor - double vision - cylindrical habitat modules - cass- 7$

Best Isle of Sodor material yet, killer new set from Columbus' Adam Miller, and his 200th or 300th tape on cylindrical. Consistently raising the bar for himself, Adam lays down easily his most accessible and profound jam yet, Side A starting off with winding, non-linear magic brushed melodies, satiny filter passes floating through like dust around a lamp. Another leap in the right direction, certainly my favorite Sodor yet, an excellent slice of sub-space electronics. Edition of 80.

h

heated void - mirror cubes - cylindrical habitat modules - cass- 7$

Bizarre collaborative effort of brothers Joseph and Julian Gulyas (Synaptic Foliage, etc.) Tightly composed yet incoherent, truly weird sparkling nightmare electronics. Fucked up alternate lightspeed carnival repetition. Either really confusing or kinda creepy. Drills into your brain then abruptly vanishes, ends like passing out in a mall. C20 of shorter compositions, can't really say too much else about it... Super, super strange tape. Edition of 80.

c

comet bodies - obsidian cartridge - cylindrical habitat modules - cdr - 7$

An extra menacing, weird continuation of the Comet Bodies vision, and the beginning of a new home-recordings era for the project. Recorded in the grip of winter in Cleveland Ohio and originally produced for the Comet Bodies "tour" (actually just two Ohio shows in early February). More science fiction oscillator spray with an almost gross-sounding edge not heard on previous Comet Bodies joints. Definitely the dirtiest-sounding Comet Bodies set to date. Edition of 60, only 20 remain.

r

revok- discography - cylindrical habitat modules - cass - 7$

"Discography" cassette collecting the two demos of this short-lived, excellent grindcore project from Rochester, New York. This was originally supposed to be the FIRST module, a one-sided 12" at first, then a 7", then the project faded away. After a triple viewing session of Scanners one weekend around thanksgiving, I was reminded and HAD to throw the Revok CD on (first grindcore i've listened to in years), and it still holds up. I still consider this a high-water mark for grind as a genre, these tracks along with Discordance Axis' collected output pretty much never stopped playing for my first two years of high school. This was a project between Aaron Nichols (pre-Defeatist, post-Kalibas...) and Erik Burke (Lethargy, Sulaco, Kalibas etc...). PERFECT "neanderthal" riffs, killer strained vocals, and thick, lightspeed blastbeats. Kinda far away from the Cylindrical Habitat reality of 2011, but the past is still real and Revok still stands up as some of the best grind ever. Stoked that these tracks are finally seeing the light of day! Edition of 100.
