feed and seed records

astral blessing - st roch - feed and seed records – cdr – 10$

The final recording of this so-called “legendary” group, finds the band holed up in a New Orleans shotgun shack (before the flood), playing banjos, droning guitars and singing in a folk fervor, largely enabled by copious amounts of Chartreuse from the Saturn Bar.

owl klub - s/t - feed and seed records – cdr – 10$

When not working on Hildegard, the trio of Mulcahy, Presnell, and Yazijian often joined together to brood, hum and intoxicate. The result, ½ of which was recorded in a primitive cabin, is a release which swerves through the minor chords of British folk, the drone plateau of krautrock, and the halcyon days of early 90’s noise. Guitar, Fiddle, Organ, Drums--Best played loud, accompanied by Dickel.

ed yazijian - six ways to avoid the evil eye - feed and seed records – cdr –10$sold out

Originally released in a handmade version of 33, Six Ways to Avoid the Evil Eye, Yazijian’s first solo record, won fans such as Joshua Burkett, who has reissued the album on lp, and Dave Keenan who wrote a lavish review in the Wire. The record is a sublime blend of free folk, eastern drone, and psych, unlike anything offered by his contemporaries.

chesterfield gorgeous - s/t - feed and seed records – cdr –10$sold out

Forget the gnomic noodlings of current twee psych folk bandwagoneers, this here recording is real folk music. The works revolve around a place, a home, and how modern forces encroach upon the place, the home, the family. It is a sober, beautiful rumination on the end of an era, a beautiful study of the pastoral. Fiddle drones, melancholy ballads, free-folk guitar explorations, homemade hubcap dobro tunes. Wonderful matter!
