ajilvsga - white path / red path - peasant magik - cass - 7$
Thick clouds of swirling electronics, walls of distortion, phased guitars, tar, and electricity riveted together for one of the heaviest and densest Ajilvsga recordings to date. this particular focus involves deep prayers to gods unknown from a place deeply buried away from daylight. both jams enter with gigantic crusty bass thuds and eventually seep into the jaws of unfriendly creatures wedged somewhere between our dimension and the beyond...welcome to the danger zone

blood stereo - little creeper - chocolate monk - cdr - 10$
Recorded live at Resonance FM. Full on duo in kick back mode, trying to burrow out of the airwaves into the listeners spine via tapes, voice, violin, oscillators, percussion and various other junk. A very pleasant magnetic headache. "Constantly engaging, and almost OCD in its search for new sounds, it runs a pretty slick roller coaster from meditative drone to looped rhythm to random samples to vocal exhumations, all inextricably connected and mystically-timed, as if these two have some secret key to the sweet spot at which to stop hammering a sound and transform it into something new." - Noiseweek

cam deas - for the silver waters, sing! - blackest rainbow – cdr - 11$
Second CDR from Cam on BR... this time around Cam focuses on 12 string guitar compositions (kinda like a tribute to Robbie Basho) rather than the more far out folk drone of 'Five Bells' (also reissued this month!). The kid has got some sweet finger picking going on... and at times almost has this kinda weird post folk aggro grunge twang to it, which I guess makes no sense, but check it out and you'll get me (maybe?). Closing track 'Raag Of The Sillver Waters' builds from the previous two 12 stringers, but Cam brings his own far out qualities to it with vocal drones, reverse looping, and bizarre bubbling bleeps. A definite for any fans of James Blackshaw, Robbie Basho... Edition of 98 hand numbered copies on pastel paper.
-br
cam deas - five bells - blackest rainbow – cdr - 11$
2nd edition with different artwork to the first run... The initial 2 seconds of the opener on this 6 track blazer from Cam are screeching electronics which vanish instantly into a seance of a doomed village, with the leader strumming out some bleak herbal drug folk ritual/haze. Track two, 'Where We've Been' blurs into an intense dronescape, smearing into a lighter, more psychedelic, drone piece 'Where We're Going'. 'The Days Are Over' has a floating drone back, layered on top with guitar ala Jack Rose, Blackshaw etc. Title track 'Five Bells' follows burning the guitar into a flaming rage, with a few remaining strum yelps struggling through the flames. The disc closes with a sweet guitar piece entitled 'Two More Days', again similar to Blackshaw and Rose. Cam just moved up for the smoke to the steel city and a bunch of us just discovered his musical vibes. He has a bunch of things dropping soon, and had a split release with Sindre Bjerga not so long ago. The dude has the skills. Limited to 60.

New band featuring Chazz Improv and Norma Bates (aka James and Jessica Toth aka Wooden Wand and Satya Sai), and Max "Mev" Wicker, so far this little crew has just had two jams out on Toth's own Mad Monk label... Here you got two tracks of weirdo psyche drone blues, compared by James to some of the Hassara jams, pretty damn slick, I played this in my local record and book store and they compared it to the an old skool German loner, although the name slips my mind. Latest and best from this mysterious tribe finds them in full synthesizer horror mode. Taking cues from the soundtracks of John Carpenter, the mutant space techno of Allan Bryant, the time-lapse mesmerism of Robert Fripp, and the intrepid synthesizer experiments of Ruth White, Hot Lead deals in nightmarish arpeggios, shapeshifting noise and ominous melodic variations. Recorded direct to 8 track - no boring, sterile microhouse polish here - and comprised of mostly solo tracks by individual members. Complete with dreamy Sisters of Mercy fanboy cover art. cloudland canyon / mythical beast - split - nnf - 12" - 12$
This fair pairing has been in the wings for a few years now by our count, but tripped things come to those who wait, so better late-as-shit than never. Cloudland Canyon have been spanning geographies (Brooklyn, Germany, Memphis) and genres (krautrock, drone, psych-pop) since at least 2002, but only recently has their technological studio-sorcery began to gather steam and affect the more far-flung populations (powered in no small part by their partnership with Kranky Records). Anyone who's gotten lost in CC's latest, Lie In Light, knows this duo is currently at the pinnacle of their potency, and their offering here ("Harvest Hunt") is a fantastic mechanical motorik ascent into symphonic hypnosis. Comparisons to classic Teutonic psych outfits of yesteryear are warranted but inadequate: this is music of today, for tomorrow. On the flip, beloved Not Not Fun in-laws Mythical Beast return to the vinyl spotlight with two luminous soul meditations conjured during the past winter's grey maze of days. Both ballads burn with Corinne's voice-for-the-voiceless defiance, wind-draped and incensed by Jeremiah and Aaron's subtle electric string energies. Naked music for open spaces, empty skies, endless nights. High-audio 45 RPM LPs (NNF's first!) in matte-jackets with cloud-skull artwork by Blackblack beauty Diva Dompe. Edition of 415.

As Brian Sullivan still flies high from his performance at No Fun Fest
this year, we've prepared a gem of a release from this half of the now
legendary Mouthus. While feeding off of similar meditative vibes of
the aforementioned Brooklyn duo, he manages to put together a cohesive
collection of distinct tracks he can call his own. Infinite layers of
blown out fuzz dominate some tracks, and deep, trance-inducing rhythms
prevail in others. Another primer for an up-and-coming ASR LP, due
later this year. Keep your eyes peeled. And as with most Mouthus-
related material, this one will not be around for very long.

This planet rock element released last year by Solar Commune and Hyperblasted Recordings proudly presents its reissue. Keeping the original artwork and making a new style layout (by KENO), presenting a new visual of their music.

1000 year frog is on side B. Steve Smith is one real ZONER jammer...he takes the time and has the patience to always offer you some new goods, in a diverse texturized manner....no exception here....the frog side enters and sustains with weird-weird shit---minimal drone angels shrieking in the backdrop, refined and subdued feedback moans and what sounds like reptilian slithering and shifting movements with weird clock-like rythms...and then, SMASH the bang for your buck has arrived, all the levels go up, and you're lost in a rabbit-hole ever descending

jeremy kelly - s/t - digitalis recordings - special edition cd + cdr - 17$
I first met Jeremy Kelly at Bottled Smoke back in May and subsequently got to know him via email over the summer. Simply put, he's an incredible artist and musician. There's a few things you should know... first, he's an effects-building wizard. He makes a lot of his own stuff, giving his music unique sounds and textures. Also, he's one hell of a guitar player with one hell of a nice guitar. Third, his circuit-bending wizardry also lends its hand to his mighty Doepfer modular synth, which has its tendrils weaved all throughout his debut CD. So keeping all these things in mind, we're extremely excited to be offering up Jeremy's first proper CD release.
This self-titled effort is a cohesive conglomeration of a dizzying array of styles, recorded beautifully by Ged Gengras (Antique Brothers) with help from Grant Capes ((VxPxC)) out in Los Angeles. Gengras even joins in on saz at one point, concocting a hypnotic Middle-Eastern jam that feels baked in the scorching desert sand. Add in some blues-infused acoustic ragas that throw a nod to Ben Chasny's Six Organs of Admittance and glazed walls of analog noise, and you're somewhere in the ballpark of this album. It's all over the place, but never too far from the path Kelly has laid down for himself. This is some serious magic.
Special edition limited to 75 handnumbered copies

klangmutationen - liturgie - dreamsheep records - cdr - 12$
'One of the most outstanding/uncompromising jazz collectives circulating right now is (without any doubt) Klangmutationen. Coming from the Eastern side of the world, they suddenly remind us of noise legends such as Masayuki Takayanagi, Kaoru Abe and Kousokuya. But you should consider them an exception because they come from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and they play 'organic free metal' (!). 'Liturgie' is a black ritual devoted to schizophrenia and otherworldly meditation which clocks at around 20 minutes. It is a burning candle for Shiva. For all you listeners, a final suggestion is to turn off the lights and immerse yourself into this deep black hole. CDR comes in a limited edition of 150 copies.'

metal rouge - storm veil / desert champion - nnf - cass - 6$
Ex-Auckland high artists Helga Fassonaki and Andrew Scott first began hammering their flux-core electronics into sustained tunnels of pale fire back in early 2006, when living down under in New Zealand's thriving hive of free music freemasons. Their early documents were obscure, open-mouthed starclusters of harsh Hototogisu-heatspells, FX-heavy improv, and isolated tinkering. Since relocating to the Hollywood grid, however, the Metal Rouge matrix has transformed significantly. Recent volumes of their excellent Ephemeroptera series, as well the Eulogy For Keeler disc (on Phantom Limb), have showcased MR's increasingly controlled avant noise architectures, but Storm Veil/Desert Champion strikes their best balance yet. Both sides unfold from keening, tense beams of drone light, layering levels of expressionist tones one after the other, slowly growing into futurist frenzy, a thousand interstitial atoms of tempest noise warring for amp space. A focused and furious 40 minutes at the forge/4-track. Pro-dubbed, shell-imprinted tapes in cardstock J-cards adorned with metallic fabric shreds plus gold flecks. Edition of 100.e are 6 songs.

n.213 - vexation- digitalis recordings - cass - 7$
n.213 is the godchild of the inimitable nic hughes. most are probably more familiar with the band he plays guitar & sings for: shearing pinx. but his solo digs never disappoint. jolting bursts of electronic mayhem laced with pcp-inflected vocal incantations make "vexaction" a hypnotic & catchy carnival ride. blitzkrieged pop elements even make an appearance, but these short & noisy bones are nothing but the sweetest candy for the noiseniks in all of us. the weapons used range from drum machines, keyboards, reel-to-reels, & guitars to shakers, bells, trumpets, pedals, and more. it's a virtuoso circus of all that is juicy.
"vexation" is one of hughes' most impressive outings yet and will etch itself in your brain and crack it from the inside out. sexy. check out the n.213 myspace for some jams. limited to 50 handnumbered copies with painted & silkscreened covers.

kenji siratori - trinity sky - digitalis recordings - cass - 7$
everyone's favorite japanese cyberpunk brings his walls of tortured noise to the world of digitalis. "trinity sky" is perhaps a softer affair the usual, though the screeching blasts will certainly punch you in the face in the end. siratori's works are dark. they move slow like congealed blood and sound like a machine's last dying breaths. "trinity sky" rushes over you like a buzzsaw, splitting you gently in two.
siratori's music is harsh and heavy at times, but trying to figure out what, exactly, is going on inside these spewing electric bubbles is half the fun and most of the battle. each of these side-long pieces is a clusterfuck of noise, pain, & absolute chaos, told in a way only siratori can. limited to 66 handnumbered copies.

This one is older than the CJA/Smokehouse tape we released last year, but you would think it's a natural progression from it. Teamed up with Sugar Jon, the three of them jaunt through some rocking numbers, wailing away on their guitars, drums, and vocal chords. It's a short, but epic follow up for sure. This ultra limited release will whet your collective pallets for the upcoming Sundowner LP, which again, features CJA and Smokehouse. Keep an eye out for that late this year/early next. In the meantime, crank the volume on this one while you're sipping some lemonade under the hot summer sun. It's *that* chill.
Smokehouse : guitar, vocals, drums
CJA : guitar, vocals, drums
Sugar Jon : guitar, vocals, drums

starving weirdos - absolute freedom -abandon ship records – 7" - 7.50$
"Here it is, our first 7" and we're PSYCHED!!! These two sides represent some of the earliest of SW material; culled from old 4 track tapes recorded in long lost living rooms, with friends and on the fly. Two kernels given the royal treatment, thanks to our friends at Abandon Ship! One an ontological cry into the abyss, the other a march in dedication to those forgotten souls who call it home." - Starving Weirdos
sweetsweetcoffeebreath / hunting rituals- cloud valley recordings - cass - 5$
If you're lucky you can catch a glimpse SweetSweet Coffeebreath lurking with his magic somewhere within the depths of the burning sun-god organ drones of Slow Listener... or, he's working some open sky healing with Atoms to conjure the great Black Sparrow. SweetSweet CoffeeBreath may or may not be Robin X of Slow Listener...Robin X may or may not be a spirit trickster sending us ethereal vibes from time and space unknown. The only other thing i have to say is that this is one beautifully channelled magnetic spell on side A of this tape. Have you seen the cloud dancer? coffeebreath probably knows her quite well
Side B of this tape involves ceremonial tapestry from the wither clan...brooding horn, fungus infested steel, and wolfcry woodwinds telling tales of the great hunt of the ancients and the madness that followed after the feast, devoured the forest whole and all its tranquility...all gone....only woodhaunts remain, twisted and torn

taurpis tula - steel rods bruise butterflies - chocolate monk - cdr - 10$
This first recording as a trio (Heather and David Leigh are joined by Alex Neilson on drums) is a full on sonic avalanche. A wild exorcism, baby. “... leaves little fractured patterns scorched onto the memory like acid on glass. Taurpis Tula’s improvisational magic has taken a stronger but no less delicate and detailed turn. This is an epic excursion.” - Stylus

mv + ee with willie lane - pray for less - blackest rainbow – cass - 10$
Second in this ongoing series of live cassettes from Matt Valentine and Erika Elder, this time joined by Willie Lane of The Golden Road in Oklahoma. This is post Ecstatic Peace releasing last year's awesome Gettin' Gone... pro dubbed tapes with printed green shells. Limited to 200, in full colour sleeves with the same art as Catalytic Dung but with different info and a new MV tale... Here's some words from Willie Lane: 'Some of Austin's brightest cognoscenti told us of the "coin" that resides in OK City. So we spent most of our bread on hot dog kings and Mexican coffee at scenic turnouts, thinking we'd make it all back two-fold at the gig. OK City and its lost lake were sobering to our power-ball minds. The Golden Road harvested tonal riches instead - and in spades - to the rejoicing of both common folk and high-rollers alike. Hospitality flowed after the gig & a kind soul rolled a bone on a Lord Buckley sleeve as our minds turned back to the road for what lay ahead. But maybe we shoulda stayed...'
