e

the green knight - the eternal OM - thor's rubber hammer - cdr - 6$

Bong-hit noise scrapple from Jeff Rahuba (Long Legged Woman) and Doug Patterson (Better People). Abrasive tape manipulations fall down the stairs in paranoid murmurs. A longing for times past when majik and pagan rites were employed in direct communion with the forces of nature. This is folk music, a lament. Edition of 100

w

totally dad - new balck draughms - thor's rubber hammer - cdr - 6$

Some seriously blown-out blues, deranged scuzz-rock and destroyed improv from Brooklyn's Totally Dad. Listening to New Black Draughms' sewage-clogged rawk, you get the impression that an instrument is beaten senseless every time a song ends, and by the close of the album, there's just nothing left. CDr housed in an oversize white envelope. Edition of 100.

long legged woman- something is pressing against it from the inside b/w scalpels in the sky - thor's rubber hammer - 7" - 7$

"Something is Pressing" marks the official introduction of the four-man Long Legged Woman. A lot has changed in just two years with the band recording everything from swampy blooze-rock and tape collage-noise to ghostly psych-folk. And now the band has moved from its home in Athens, Georgia to San Francisco. The A-side is almost like something out of the early SST Records catalog, a mid-tempo trash-punk anthem with a busted-teeth smile. The psych-pop dirge on the B-side was originally released on a CDR already out of print, and for all intents and purposes, is the prettiest song Long Legged Woman's ever written. Live photo collage by Alex Cargile. Pressed on random-colored marble vinyl. Edition of 300.

n

nicolastone - i'm tone deaf (musicpourlessourds) - thor's rubber hammer - 3" cdr - 4$

Electro-acoustic French musician Nicolas Laferrerie offers one of his most obliterating pieces yet on 'I'M TONE DEAF.' While split into ten tracks, it's a fully-realized 20-minute work that pulses heavy electronic beats alongside manipulated audio and cut-up fire-jazz sax squawks and battling war drums. LaFarrerie intersperses bouts of terrifying noise with ambient clicks and whirrs as if preparing for the next onslaught. 3" CDR comes housed in a long, gray gatefold envelope tied with string. Edition of 100.

saint francis and the christmas donkey- how saint francis tamed the very fierce wolf of gubbio - thor's rubber hammer - cdr - 5$

Ben Collins is a free-improv guitarist who takes his cues from Loren Connors and Derek Bailey. Upon first hearing Keiji Haino's noise-rock band Fushitsusha and discovering, though not hearing, the drone-metal movement of the last few years, Collins set to work on creating a live, one-man interpretation of the two. In one 40-minute single track, Gubbio attempts to balance the rigid, composed nature of metal and the fun, free expression of improv. Its three somewhat distinct sections move through raging guitar feedback, meditative and metallic drone and an extended battle-drum climax that's as powerful as it is restrained. Black ink on red vellum cover with a black CDR on black heavy cardstock.

c

chartreuse- summit - thor's rubber hammer - 3" cdr - 4$

Drew Smith, drummer for the righteous, dirty noise-thrash/stoner-punk band Gasmask & Matchsticks, reveals something less brash. Multiple waves of electric guitar worshiping the sunrise, reflective organ drones on codeine, and graceful textures that muddle the area between ambience and melody. Artwork by Drew Smith.

l

sweet teeth- from the fourth hand of the buddha the lotus was born for the seventh time - thor's rubber hammer - cdr - 5$

Sweet Teeth combines both the sounds and members of Dark Meat and Long Legged Woman -- clusterpsych classic-rock tendencies paired with hypnotic avant-rock. From the Fourth Hand's lone track, "Morning Raga," is a tribal drum-heavy affair recorded live at the 40 Watt in Athens, GA by the capable hands and ears of Asa Leffer. The monochordal frame has the band expanding the third eye in the crosshairs of Spacemen 3, Acid Mothers Temple and Pharoah Sanders. Artwork by Ben Clack and righteous llama photo by Page Campbell. Pro-printed CDRs in a resealable polybag.

w

long legged woman- the end of false religion - thor's rubber hammer - cdr - 5$

Something totally different for the soulful blues-skuzz guitar/drum 'n tapes duo. Two sick drones: one for solo tape, the other for guitar and bass that sounds like Keiji Haino had an overbloated, allergic reaction to a boombox dub. 40 minutes. Next album's supposed to be more song-based and psychedelic (!). These kids are like the Boris of Athens: you never know what noise they're gonna tear a new one next. LLW rules. Artwork lifted from an old, tattered Emily Brontë dust-jacket slipped into a 5x6 plastic sleeve.

o

owl xounds - stoned and zoned - thor's rubber hammer - 2x3" cdr - 7$sold out

One of NYC's most aggressive fire-jazz units, Owl Xounds, continues to link ESP'Disk and the Misfits, but here also approaches beautiful noise on two 20+ minute pieces. Mainstays Adam Kriney (drums) and Gene Janas (upright bass) are augmented by Bonnie Kane on amplified flute and sax with electronics. Kane's contributions bring the unit to its most psychedelic paramount, her feedback-sax worshipping at the gates of guitar gods like Les Rallizes Denudes and Blue Cheer, yet affectionately rooted in Ayler. Kriney (La Otracina, Rust Ionics, Castanets) moves the action forward, ravaging without destroying, and Janas (Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Bern Nix's Sedition Ensemble) practically rips the strings off his bass, yet both know when to let textures form on their own. Packaged in mini-LP plastic sleeve with insert and spray-painted stencil work by Lars Gotrich.
Edition of 99.
